Our Vision
The vision of the CancerFreeWorld4Kids (CFW4Kids) organization is to raise as much money as we can for children's cancer research including children's hospitals and organizations dedicated to finding a cure for childhood cancer.
Cancer Free World 4 Kids is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, founded by Andrew McLellan.
Andrew's Story
My name is Andrew McLellan and I am a survivor of cancer. I was diagnosed at the age of nine with a brain tumor and faced a very hard path for the next few years. Thankfully, with the help of the doctors and nurses from Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, I am now nineteen and have no visible side effects from my illness. I have lost friends to cancer. In tribute to my friends and all the kids affected by this disease I have made it my personal goal to raise at least one million dollars for the children's cancer research. Any, and all, help is more than appreciated. If you have a question or would like to talk with me, please call 610-649-3888 or email us at cancerfreeworld4kids@gmail.com. Thank you on the behalf of Cancer Free World 4 Kids.
The Butterfly Symbol
We have selected the symbol of a butterfly for our organization due to the significance it holds for us. Andrew was first introduced to the butterfly symbol during his cancer treatment when he attended the Ronald McDonald Camp (RMC) that is sponsored by CHOP. The butterfly helps kids think about the souls of their friends' spirits going to heaven. Campers at the Ronald McDonald Camp hold a ceremony each summer to remember those who have passed away during the last year. Each camp counselor who knew the former campers would say a few words about the person. At the end of this special time together, butterflies were released as symbols of our friends finding their way to heaven. Those kids who survive cancer feel a strong responsibility to those who do not survive. Cancer Free World 4 Kids hopes that some day the only butterflies at camp will be the ones that are found in the fields.
